from La Ciotat to… La Ciotat
One week in La Ciotat – we all agree it’s a great place to be for a few days! The first week of home schooling, a nice hike, visiting the botanical gardens, one week of “normal” life on bord! We’re clearly not in the rythme yet.
- The boy’s efficiency in washing up,
- our organization of next days school topics,
- putting things back at their place,
- keeping to the boat maintenance tasks/work of the day we decided in the morning instead of settling others,
- the men helping to decide WHAT to eat,
- etc…
all subject to improvement! Problem recognized; problem half settled! Every little step helps for the organization and harmony on bord 😉
The weather situation has kept us in La Ciotat and as the works of mounting the solar panels and the lifting system for the dinghy has now been confirmed for around 20th May only, we are not in a hurry to move too far away. We need to go to Hyères as soon as they confirm the parts are ready.
Other works settled this week:
- cleaned deck and cockpit (note: on our knees with brushes and water!)
- oiled teak floor of the cockpit (well done boys)
- fixed the safety net starboard
- fixed the spinnaker’s pole on the mast
- cleaned the freshwater tank inside
- attached the piano!
- fixed the rope for the curtesy flag
We all enjoyed another morning wandering through the market today (in the rain!) and will be leaving eastwards tomorrow. The weather should improve. Looking forward to start moving.
